I met Sean, who is the founder of Mr.B Games, through our fulfillment partner. He has participated in many great crowdfunding campaigns in the past. When we playtested some of the games we were amazed by their deep story and gameplay. If you are interested in his games, we have some of them listed on our shop 😊
Why have you decided to create your own game?
At Mr.B Games – game creation is something we enjoy immensely. From our first title published in 2005 to our current lineup, every game we have made has been a labor of love.
What interest you the most about developing games/ and what not?
Enjoying a topic, or style of game, and the smiles they make when we get them to the table.
Tell us about the funniest failure or situation that you had as a developer.
Oh! So many. Failure is the greatest teacher. Probably the first time we went to Essen and could not get our games to fit on the return container because we didn’t know EU pallets and USA pallets were different sizes!!!! Luckily for us, Harold at Heidleberger (those yellow shoes gave him away! RIP my friend) was kind enough to loan us a jack and give us two EU pallets. Great folks.
If you would have to play only three games for the rest of your life, which games would these be?
Tikal, St. Petersburg and something meaty with lots of expansion (because forever is a long time!)
What makes your game/games unique?
There are so many great games out there. We would like to think that our passion and topics would shine through in our games and make them appealing for everyone.
What was the best moment you had as a game developer?
Meeting and working with the great Dr Reiner Knizia! Several other great moments with designers but I was lucky enough to work with Reiner early in my career and as a huge fan it was such a great moment.
You want to sell your games in Germany. Why do you think Germans will like your game in particular?
We have always loved coming to Germany every October for Essen – and love the people! Not everyone can find or remembers our kickstarters so to have the ability to sell our games in Germany after a launch is just fantastic. We used to sell out super fast and then never be able to restock. Having this partnership now allows us to have and list our games in German longer than a few weeks out of the year.
